King of Kings
This month I’m looking at King of Kings (1961) directed by Nicholas Ray.
Despite it’s flaws it’s one of my top ten Jesus Films, (although perhaps the least defensible selection) mainly down to some great visuals.

On your podcast about the film KING OF KINGS (1961), you say, “Jeffrey Hunter’s speech was redubbed with a lower, more serious voice.” Although virtually all of Hunter’s dialogue was redubbed, it was by Hunter himself, and that is most assuredly his own voice throughout the film. An interesting footnote: Hunter’s acting coach for the dialogue was actress Agnes Moorehead, who had played his mother in THE TRUE STORY OF JESSE JAMES.

Yes, I wasn’t meaning to suggest it was anybody else, but Hunter had to use a lower more serious voice.
