LJ, I’d be really interested to know your source for that? Going by memory (and this was almost 2 years ago), I watched the director’s commentary (which also featured Neeley) as part of my prep for it, and I thought that it was only then that I picked up it was an “accident”. But then I may very well have remembered that all completely wrong.

Or it might be that it being captured on film was an accident, but the decision to include it once it had been discovered was, as you say, “a [purposeful] concession to the Christian community”.

Thanks for this; it’s really interesting. I don’t know if I’d call the timing of the last cross shot “fortuitous” though… According to Ted Neeley, the inclusion of the shepherd in the final shot was a [purposeful] concession to the Christian community, including Neeley himself. Gread podcast!

I think there are “indications” - their similar ages, their style of dress, their interactions and so on. It’s not definite proof, so perhaps another word might have been more appropriate, but I think it’s fairly likely that that is what is intended.

Several times you refer to the cast as “students”. Yet there is no such indication in the movie that they are anything other than an acting troupe.
